I’m aliiiiiiveeee! Sorry folks (all 5 of you who read this),
this summer was quite the spectacle what with my broken wrist and whatnot. Fun
fact: typing is downright horrible when you only have one hand to use… so
yeah.. in any event, I am back! And what better foray back into things than a
little post on some of the upcoming tasty events happening in the Seattle area (and beyond).
We’re going across the alcohol palate tonight, and looking at an upcoming wine,
beer and cider event (I will just put them in order of when they are
happening)! Without further ado…

BREW Seattle
Seattle Magazine’s 3rd annual BREW Seattle will be held Friday October 23rd from
6-9pm at Elliott Hall at Bell
Harbor down on the
waterfront. This
local-breweries-only tasting event of the year features over 20 breweries
located within Seattle , tapping the local
creativity in our Emerald
City . With
admission ticket, you receive 6 tasting tokens, which are each good for one
fill-up of your complimentary 5-oz BREW Seattle
mini-mug. If 30 oz of Seattle ’s
best beers aren’t good enough for you, additional tokens can be purchased at
the event. The event will also feather music, Seattle beer Culture and giveaways. Guests
also have the chance to vote for their favorite local brewery! At the event,
each guest will have a chance to weigh-in on the Brewery of the Year, which
will hold the title until next year’s event. Pike Brewery currently holds the title
and will be back to defend their honor! Tickets for BREW Seattle 2015 are $28
and can be purchased here,
which also gives you the scoop on who is pouring at this year’s event!
Taste of Tulalip
The 7th Annual Taste of Tulalip Celebration is coming up the weekend of November 13th and 14th! This
AMAZING event will kick off with the Friday night wine and passed hors d’oeuvres
reception followed by the fittingly named Celebration Dinner. The multi-course
repast celebrates "La Famiglia,” as the Italians say, it's all about
"the family!" The evening's inspiration comes from the
love of Italian grandmothers everywhere who have a special passion for cooking
amazing food every day for their families. In tribute, Tulalip chefs
will recreate many of their beloved recipes, paired with a global offering
of rare, top wines. Sadly, this dinner is already sold out, but it’s
always a hit! The weekend’s highlight is always Saturday’s Grand Taste,
spanning four hours and featuring lavish food stations, as well as over 100
wines from Washington state, Oregon, California, Oporto, Maderia, global
selections of bubbles, as well as pours of late harvest and ice wines
and craft beer. As someone who has attended this twice, I can tell
you this is a MUST ATTEND. I have never attended an event where there was a
bigger selection of high end wines and delectable food options. The Taste of
Tulalip continues to evolve into the region’s premier wine event, bringing in top
names in wine and food. This year’s event will feature two lounges: the Bubbly
Lounge (yes please!) featuring sparkling wines from around the globe and the
Delta Lounge pouring a selection of late harvest wine, ice wines, port and
Madeira (basically, a dessert wine goodness lounge!). Also don’t miss the
Rock-n-Roll Cooking Challenge. Like what you taste? The Taste of Tulalip retail
wine shop will be available so you can take home your favorites. Tickets for the
Grand Taste can be found here.
There you have it! Three delicious events coming up over the
next month, each with a different focus. If you were really ambitious, you
could hit BREW Seattle
Friday October 23rd, CiderHood on Saturday the 24th and head
up to Tulalip for the Grand Taste on November 14th. I am saddened
that I will be out of the area for the Brew and CiderHood, they look fantastic.
But get your tickets now to these great upcoming events! Cheers!
