Much like a fine wine, the Seattle Wine & Food Experience (@SeattleWineFood) gets even better with age. Each vintage of the event gets better every year, as if event producer Jamie Peha (@tabletalkpeha) of Peha Promotions strives to out-do herself year after year. This will be my 4th visit to the SWFE and I am just as excited for this year as I have been for previous years. This year the SWFE will be held on February 24th, 2013 from 12-5pm at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall (its home for the past several years). The 5th annual SWFE will feature more than 100 wineries from around the globe plus local foods, beer, cider and craft spirits.
This year, the Snoqualmie Casino (@SnoCasino) takes the stage as a presenting sponsor and will host the Snoqualmie Casino Luxe Lounge, where you can “play” a hand or two at one of the classic gaming tables, enjoy a premium wine or craft beer and taste some of the signature dishes from their award winning restaurants – Terra Vista, 12 Moons Asian Bistro and Sno Deli. We had the chance to sample bites from each of these three restaurants at a preview event for SWFE and I must say, WOW. I hadn’t visited Snoqualmie Casino before and I was highly impressed by their food offerings and hospitality. You absolutely MUST try the Piedmontese beef New York Rolls w/ tobacco onions, horseradish ramolade and dry Persian Gremolate at SWFE. I would have stashed 20 of these in my purse at the preview if they hadn’t been all gone by my 3rd trip to the food table (foiled!). These paired well with a Spring Valley Vineyard Frederick Cabernet Sauvignon, which you will also find in the Luxe Lounge at the event. A fun special appearance includes Micah Fields from Bravo’s Top Chef: Seattle in the Luxe Lounge from 1-4pm. Don’t miss it!

Oregon is the featured wine region for this year’s Seattle Wine & Food Experience. The Oregon Wine Board (@Oregon_Wine) brings more than 30 state producers to showcase the grapes that the state does best (Pinot! Pinot! Pinot!). I love exploring other wine regions outside of Washington, and at this event, we get to do it without even leaving Seattle!
Sip Northwest Magazine (@SipNorthwest) is back as an
event sponsor, this year with their “Distillery Square” where you can taste
creations from the region’s hottest craft distillers and get a little education
on how grains and botanicals become our favorite whiskeys, vodkas and gins.
The Washington Beef (@WABeef) Bistro with
Chateau Ste. Michelle (@SteMichelle) will feature comparisons of
mid-west and northwest corn-fed beef to see which you prefer. This area will
also feature The Barking Frog,
The Capital Grille,
and Andaluca preparing delicious beef dishes along with wines from Chateau Ste. Michelle.
The Seattle Magazine (@SeattleMag) “All Things Sweet Chocolate Shop” will
feature hot sipping chocolate from Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery and samples from Seattle Chocolates
& Theo Chocolates.
While you’re there, get a photo taken in the 321 Foto Booth!
The list goes on and on of the amazing food and beverage at
this event. There is quite literally something for everyone (wine, beer, cider,
spirits), and the dazzling line-up of restaurants is sure to please even the pickiest eater.
Tickets for this year’s event are on sale now for $55, and include access to all areas of the event. No one
under 21 will be admitted and ID is required, so plan ahead! The Seattle Wine
& Food Experience is a charitable event for the Giving Grapes Foundation
501c3 organization and Big Table for 2013. Don't wait to get your tickets, this event notoriously sells out in advance. Start making your list now of wineries & restaurants to check out and I'll see you at the 2013 Seattle Wine & Food Experience on 2/24!
