The chatter was buzzing, the wait they could not stand
The glasses were lined on the wine bar with care
In hopes that eager tasters soon would be there
Early on 9/2, they sprung from their beds
As visions of wine danced through their heads
No Malbec or Syrah, Pinot or Chardonnay
Not today, no, this day was for #cabernet!
The schedule was set and the day was here
And wine lovers came from far and near
The bottles were prepped, the decanters stand by
All types of #cabernet ready to try
From Columbia Gorge to Red Mountain, Yakima to Chelan
The king of grapes is upon us, its biggest fan
The wine keys turn, the glasses shine
And everyone eyes the delicious wine
The first pour comes and eyes go wide
The winemakers smile and show their pride
The aroma of the wine, the dark purple hue
The next taste is poured, as if on cue
The celebration is had, the wines keep flowing
For this is a special day, and it’s definitely showing
So grab a favorite bottle and pair your favorite bite
